Seven Years Strong

Seven years ago today, the first inception of what would later become "TimeGiant" took the stage for their debut show.  On March 15th, 2006, Tyrone Buccione and myself (Ryan Watson) performed as a two piece guitar act under the moniker "TIME".  Playing in Windsor, Ontario at a local University "Battle of the Bands" as two young (and very green) musicians, we played heavy rock n' roll covers and a few early original tunes without the added support of a full band.  

What we lacked in talent at that time, we certainly made up for in attitude and energy.  This wasn't a two piece acoustic set by any means.  We turned the volume up LOUD, and played heavy riffs on two  electric guitars with small 15 watt amps.  There were no drums.  There was no bass.    But there was a very intense feeling that something big was in the works.  Despite the fact that we did not advance in the competition, we both knew that "TIME" would grow into something much larger if we stuck to our rock n' roll roots and chased the goal.

It wasn't long before we acquired bassist Pat Wilken, and after a few years with rotating drummers between Carey Linton, and Taso Pavlou, we eventually landed with energetic drummer Charlie McKittrick.

Today is a very special day for TimeGiant.  After 7 years of developing as musicians both individually and as a band, TimeGiant is at the highest point of their career with an enormous year ahead.  In just 4 days on March 19th, TimeGiant will be launching the official public release of their new music video, "I Am The Fire", and on March 22nd, TimeGiant will be performing at Rivoli for Canadian Music Fest with FINGER ELEVEN guitarist, James Black and a massive guest headliner to be announced.  The show will be hosted by OUR LADY PEACE drummer Jeremy Taggart, and TimeGiant will be performing the following night as well at The Underground Garage on March 23rd.  

Four brand new tracks are nearly complete with producer Greig Nori (Treble Charger, Sum 41) and the band couldn't be happier with the massive push we have been receiving as of late.  

TimeGiant is now endorsed by Blundstone Boots, SIT Strings, Godin Guitars, Prestige Guitars, and TRX cymbals, and have turned a lot of heads in the past year.

March 15th, 2006 will go down in the record books as the VERY first official TIME show, and we've come a VERY long way since then.  So here's to 7 amazing years of learning, and another 7 amazing years of living the dream.  Put your glasses in the air!  Thank you for the support.  WE LOVE YOU!

annnnnnd... ACTION!!!

TimeGiant has been firing on all cylinders as usual, turning up the heat and burning down the streets!  Last week the boys shot a music video for "I Am The Fire" at Salt and Pepper Studio's, in Toronto, Ontario.  With cameraman/director Rich Meisner manning the shoot, TimeGiant shot a very realistic, interactive live action video that will enable the viewer to choose the camera angle.  In this unique, trendsetting style, viewers will be able to switch camera angles throughout the video while watching online, to see various perceptions of individual band members, wide angle shots, and many other views!  The filming is now complete, and the music video for "I Am The Fire" should be released in the coming month!

Of course, throughout this busy schedule of video shoots, writing, and recording new songs with producer Greig Nori, TimeGiant is still hard on the road and performing in cities around Ontario.  Last week's show with Treble Charger at The Dakota Tavern was lit up, and the coming weeks will prove to be just as exciting!  Don't miss TimeGiant at Canadian Music Week and these upcoming dates!

Kickin it in the studio! New Tracks and New BOOTS!

Well the boys of TimeGiant are back recording at Coalition Studio's with critically acclaimed producer and front man of Treble Charger, Greig Nori.  We have restructured some older tracks for recording and are also recording a brand new tune over the next couple of weeks!  TimeGiant would like to give a HUGE shout out to Blundstone Boots for hooking the band up with four AWESOME pairs of boots.  With new tracks on the go and these brand new stompers you can bet TimeGiant will be KICKING into overdrive, while stomping a mud-hole in the Canadian rock scene, and walking it dry!  Thanks Blundstone!  And don't miss TimeGiant live at these upcoming dates!

BIG 70's SOUND!

Hey friends!  TimeGiant is keeping in typical rock n' roll fashion with new tunes, and big recordings!  Tonight we're at Epik Productions in Toronto recording drum tracks for one of our earliest gems, "Blind".  With producer Ross Citrullo manning the board, the track is quickly coming to life with huge 70's tones that would make your deaf grandmother groove!  Recording the drums in an open hall way is giving us that classic, BIG '"zeppelin" feel with our own modern twist.  Big things are in motion for the boys of TimeGiant!  Last week we worked with producer/songwriter Arnold Lanni (Our Lady Peace, Finger Eleven) and we will also be writing/recording with producer Greig Norri (Treble Charger, Sum 41) in early December.  It won't be long now and we will have some major studio ammunition to fire your way, but until then, be sure to catch TimeGiant live in a city near you!

Now that we've got your attention, it's time for an update!  The boys in TimeGiant have been rocking hard and are now busier than ever!  We've nearly finished our recording sessions with Jon Drew and the first mixes are sounding larger than life!  The band has been working a new single with the help of song writer/guitarist Sean Kelly (Crash Kelly, Nelly Furtado, Helix) and we will be sitting with song writer/producer Greig Nori (Treble Charger) in the coming weeks to work on yet another TimeGiant grand slam!  Tyrone and Charlie also recently recorded a version of a newer TimeGiant song, "Been Here Before" so be sure to check out the video on YouTube and let us know what you think!  Cheers, and KEEP IT LOUD!
